What’s new from Bill & Me

Hey, you –  yes, YOU!

Hey, you –
yes, YOU!

The You & Me series features YOU (the reader) and ME (the narrator) going on amazing adventures together. All we need are our adventure suits, our adventure helmets and our trusty & talented illustrator Bill Hope to draw it all for us—LET’S GO!

BILL & ME
“It is such a blast to be collaborating with the enormously talented Bill Hope on the You & Me Series.

His drawings have a cinematic quality that amplify the fun of the fast-paced narrative and the mind-expanding thrills of book-based adventuring. We hope readers—of all ages and abilities—get swept up in the unlimited adventure and take the series to their hearts in the same enthusiastic way they have embraced the Treehouse books.”

“Working on the You & Me Series with Andy Griffiths has been an absolute dream job for me.

I’ve been often struck by the generosity of spirit with which Andy has welcomed and included me in his creative process. We have worked very closely together sketching and writing simultaneously so the words and pictures have a wonderful synchronicity and capture the immense fun we had creating them.”

What they’re saying about the Land of Lost Things

My son Max (7) and I (40) read the proof together over 4 nights and it captivated his imagination in a way I’ve never seen before. The narration referring to the characters as ‘You’ and ‘Me’ made him feel like we were on the adventure together, and each night he asked me where I thought our adventures would take us next. Andy has performed a genius magic trick with this book, once again delighting and dazzling young minds in a wonderfully unique way that will speak to a whole new generation of fans.

I was really excited to see a new adventure from Andy. I loved the packaging and the fun illustrations throughout this new series. I also really enjoyed how the story made me feel a connection and a part of the adventure straight away. Loved all the quirky objects lost in this crazy land and then trying to find them throughout. I also enjoyed all the different faces created in the story. This was a really fun enjoyable read! One that I will recommend to all my friends!

Full of the wacky, exuberant, imaginative shenanigans fans have come to expect . . . Part chapter book, part graphic novel, all humour and playfulness, the YOU & ME series will delight existing Griffiths devotees, and win new ones.

Finished: This is a total and utter caper! Who knew you could have so many laughs around lost things in all of their different forms, a knucklehead and some incredible illustrations which add so much to the humour in this! Pirates, flying socks, treasure and a bull! Just great!

Reading to your child is so important; it helps hugely with their vocabulary, and of course reading skills, but it’s also just a really nice way to connect with your child and create memories together. I know this because every day people come into the Readings Kids shop looking for books their parents read to them as kids so they can read them to their own. Andy Griffiths’ The Land of Lost Things – the first book in his new series, YOU & ME – is the perfect bedtime story for this, because the protagonists of the YOU & ME series are you and your child.

The book opens with ‘We’ve sure had a lot of adventures, haven’t we? Remember when we …’ before recounting the adventure you had. When you read this book to your child, you’re reminding them of that time you both went to the Land of Lost Things to find your lucky rabbit’s foot, and you befriended a bull together, and your kid saved your life from an unprincipled pirate! I’m beyond thrilled with this new series, and I can’t wait to be reminded of all the adventures I’ve forgotten I had as each new book comes out. And on top of all that, Bill Hopes’ fantastic illustrations sprinkle the pages with extra jokes and visual gags, meaning you’ll need multiple re-reads to be able to fully take in everything. Highly recommended for ages 5+.
