Treehouse Series Archives - Andy Griffiths

We started with 13 storeys in 2011 and added 13 new levels every year until we reached 169-Storeys (the thirteenth book!!!!!!!!!!!!!) in 2023. This epic series tells the story of how Terry (the illustrator) and Andy (me, the writer) came to live in this amazing treehouse and all the stuff that has happened there (and, believe me, a LOT of stuff has happened!)

If your letters, drawings and feedback is anything to go by, it seems that you love reading them as much as we loved making them! Our treehouse is a great place to hang out and you and your friends are very welcome to visit us any time. We’re open 25 hours a day, 8 days a week and 53 weeks a year: well, what are you waiting for?

I really like your books, the absurd humor, the movie references, the colorful characters and creative ideas, this is why your books were the first i read, and the reason why i know and like books like ” The Diary Of A Wimpy Kid” or Herman Parish’s ” Amelia Bedelia”, so that is why your books are special to me.

When I was nine, I checked out Andy’s first book “Just tricking” and before I knew it, I was enjoying the hell outta that book and finally found the type of books that I loved to read. Needless to say I then starting reading every other novel of his that I could get my hands on (Most of them I just borrowed from my primary school’s library.) Most other novels as a kid didn’t appeal to me as I only liked to read non-fiction. (Same to this day as a young 23 year old) But back then Andy Griffith’s books were the only novels I truly ever loved, he even signed my copy of The 52 Story Treehouse back in 2014 when I met him at a signing at Big W Eastland. I reckon it would be nostalgic if he wrote for older audiences as well, especially those who grew up reading his classic novels.

I first read a treehouse book when I was 8 (the 39 storey treehouse). I am now 17 and I have just finished the last treehouse book (the 169 storey treehouse). I have read the whole series (including some many many times) and they were a big part of my childhood. I loved them so much I even tried to make my own version with my friend when I was about 10 (we only got as far as making a cover). Thank you for fueling my imagination.

Last week, when we saw the books at a library, we thought it was not interesting at first. However our mum encouraged and recommended us to read, we found it was very interesting. We read all the series of Treehouse for lots of times in a week.

I have read many books before, but Andy and Terry are the best author and illustrator so far! I read Just Tricking at school and it was so engaging and funny! I love your books and you should keep writing more.
